Term 2 Week 5 2024

FROM THE PRINCIPAL - TERM 2, WEEK 5, 2024

Mother’s Day last week

Thanks to all the incredible efforts of all last week to pull together what was a great Mother’s Day. Looking at the day overall, it felt very special and embraced all aspects of our community that make Eppalock wonderful. Thanks to the cooks and coffee makers, the special helpers and the staff who provided the variety of keepsakes that were created and sent home, it certainly would have made all the Mum’s feel incredibly special.

Working Bee

The working bee weather held out for just a few hours but enough to make an impact. We were very lucky while we had the kids helping as once they left, it turned a bit pear shaped. Regardless, in true Eppalock spirit, parents and students hung about to get some hard work done. Thanks again to everyone who was able to lend a hand.

No School This Friday

Just a reminder that this Friday is a Curriculum Day and there is no school for the students. There will not be an assembly on Thursday.

EppaLock It In

Are you a trivia nut? Do you have great general knowledge? Or do you fancy a catch up on the oval while having a bit of a laugh? On Saturday the 25th, we are having a bit of a community day here at school. We are going to be running trivia afternoon. There are no prizes or anything, just an opportunity to get the community together. It is running from 2-5 so if you are interested in coming along, that would be great. Please bring your own food, drinks, chairs or a rug and get ready for a fun afternoon. Please RSVP via the Facebook invitation from Parents Club.

2025 Prep Information Night- Monday the 20th

For any families that have student coming into Prep next year, we are running our Prep Information Night next Monday at 6PM here in the shared learning space. It would be great to come along and meet other new families on the night.

2025 Open Day- Thursday 23rd

We are running our Prep Open Morning Thursday the 23rd from 9AM- 10AM. On the morning, there will be a variety of activities happening across the classroom, led by our 5/6 students.

3-6 Urban Camp

The cost of the camp is being subsidised by the school to keep overall costs down and the cost per student is $250. We are requesting that the final payment of $50 be made by May 17th, by mySchoolConnect.

Covid, Colds and Flu

We are well and truly into that time of year when people are getting sick. We are experiencing an increase in reported Covid-19 cases throughout Victoria and our school community. Please keep your child home if they have any cold and flu like symptoms, even if your child is testing negative, they are required to stay at home until symptom free. If your child tests positive, please ensure they stay home for at least 5 days and they are no longer symptomatic. We appreciate your support as these steps will help us all stay well.
