Parent Opinion Survey

A communication has been sent via uEducateUs for the 2026 Parent Opinion Survey. We would love to get all families feedback into our school through this yearly survey. Only one survey needs to be completed per family and it should take no longer than 20 minutes. Please see the communication and link provided in uEducateUs.

Curriculum Day Booked

Next term, on Friday the 9^th of October, staff are undertaking professional learning here at school. This is a student free day.

HDFNL Clean Up

A big thank you to all the families who were able to lend a hand yesterday at the Huntly Footy Grounds. Many hands made light work and we were able to complete the clean up in around an hour and a half. The morning was a success and the funds raised will be used to go towards the cost of the lighting and technology for our production.

5/6 Basketball

We are off to Red Energy Centre on Wednesday this week to compete in our local basketball tournament. We look forward to sharing our experience of the day at assembly on Friday.

3-6 Camp Information

3-6 Camp information was sent home on Friday with the students and also via uEducateUs today. We are requesting that all relevant medical forms be returned to Michelle by Thursday this week.

No Brekkie Club final two weeks

There will be no Brekkie Club for the final two weeks of this term.

150 Year Celebrations

Just a reminder that there is a permission note on uEducateUs that outlines whether your family and child are attending our 150^th in Term Four, Sunday October 18^th from 10AM-1PM. We want to have our entire school community in attendance so if families could please mark this permission note, that would be great.

We also have our website up and running. This has numerous items that can be purchased to recognise the upcoming 150th anniversary. A huge shout to Amy Reade, who has worked on the book for countless hours and the whole 150^th committee who have worked collaboratively, bringing this momentous occasion to life!

150 Years Jobs and Upcoming Working Bee- October 16^th

Below is a list of jobs that we are working on as a community. Some jobs have family names to them already so thank you to those families. If you are away and unable to come in and help over holidays, we would like you to come in and help at our whole school working bee next term. The date is scheduled for Friday, October 18^th.

Holiday Jobs and Community Working Bee (16/10)

Jobs taken on already

• Swing area- Tim A and Kevin- Scrape the area near the swings, whacker pack granitic sand. Alicia to provide rocks for seating.

• Firepit- Damian W is completing this and laying pavers
• Pressure washing school- Mannes
• Stain ‘N’ Sip the wooden deck and Paint ‘n’ Sip the wooden playground- Danni T but more people are needed.
• Pressure wash shade sail and concrete pavers- Connor M

Volunteers Needed

• Old cubby in front paddock- remove façade- get rid of cubby- the idea is to install this however given the time constraints, store this up near the water tanks. Get rid of old bridge.
• Front paddock- chainsaw up dead trees and remove
• Move reo and wood up behind the green water tanks
• Back area near shipping container- tidy up and mulch
• Trim back overhanging bushes on Paton’s Road and rear entry into the school.
• Remove green tubs of weeds
• Chook shed tidy inside and out, on top
• Spread soft fall around the playground or shovel sand into the sandpit.
• Vege patch tidy up- remove dead plants from garden, replant if needed. All items on work bench tidied, organised and stored in garden shed.
• Old School Building Deep Clean- September School Holidays and again on the whole school working bee. Move all toys to shipping container as a temporary solution or the sports shed.
• Weeding and mulching- anywhere and everywhere needs some attention however if you are available during the school holidays to help with some weeding, we need all our garden spaces weeded and mulched. If there is mulch already there, this indicates that it is done.
• Installation of a new ‘buddy bench’ to replace the Laurie Whelan wooden seat in the Serenity Garden. The school has purchased this, it should arrive in the first week of the term. We need the memorial plaque made up prior, ready to attach and the bench installed on a concrete slab.
• Remove old wooden bench from Serenity Garden.
• Back area near shipping container- tidy up and mulch- remove dead tree and concrete tube

2026 Curriculum Contributions and Voluntry Contributions can be pd via MSC.  Thankyou to those that have already paid.  These contributions help to go towards the cost of implementing the programs the students use every day.   
                           

HATS 

Hats are required in TERM 1 and can be purchased via MSC anytime.  We now also have a larger size hat that can be purchased through the MSC site.  
Hats and Beanies will still be required to buy through MY SCHOOL CONNECT until we have no stock on site then we will have hats and beanies available on the new EDUTHREADS uniform store.

Tickets are $5 per adult and kids are free. The tickets aren't assigned to a particular seat. Please still book for any kids coming as we need to know numbers (EPS students not included). 

THURSDAY DAY

The bus will depart EPS at 9:15 (as per permission note) and we will spend the day at the hall rehearsing. At 1pm the Grade 4's from Strathfieldsaye P.S will arrive and watch our final dress rehearsal/matinee performance. If there's any parents/family members who are unable to come on the night, they'd be very welcome to come along to to the matinee performance at 1pm on Thursday. Then at 2:50pm the bus will depart back to EPS. 

THURSDAY AFTERNOOON

It will be a huge day on Thursday, please consider giving your child a big rest in the afternoon, and giving any usual after school activities a miss. Please make sure they have plenty of water and food and some dinner before they come. 

THURSDAY EVENING

Students will need to be at the hall by 5:50pm to get changed and have some photos taken backstage etc. Please drop students to the BACK DOOR of the hall (on left, near driveway) where a teacher will be to mark them off. All audience members need to enter through the foyer; buy a slice on your way through! 

PHOTOS and VIDEO

We will have both a photographer and videographer on the night to capture the event so you'll be able to relax and kick back and enjoy the show.
