Term 2 SWPBS Focus - Respect
Kindness, Responsibility, Resilience.
School Vision:
Our school’s vision is to prepare young people to become active, engaged and responsible citizens of the local and global community.
This week is Education Week at Eppalock PS. We have a couple of different events on during the week.
On Monday night from 6:00pm-6:30pm we have our Information Night for 2023 prospective families. Please make any friends or family aware of this event if they are interested in enrolling at Eppalock PS in 2023. We have had a few families take advantage of individual tours already which is fantastic. It is good to come along on this night and maybe even meet other prospective families and chat with staff about how best to meet the individual needs of your children. Once enrolment forms are submitted, the school can begin working with families to plan the best transition process for next year.
On Wednesday morning from 9:00am-11:00am we will have our Open Morning. All families and friends, special persons and prospective families are welcome to visit the school during this time. Classes will have some activities in action which allows for easy participation from visitors. We will also have the Coffee Storm Van on site for the first hour of the day for adults to take advantage of.
We have a whole school excursion on Friday so will not be holding a Back to School assembly on Friday, however will hold a regular assembly on Thursday morning. This will be hosted by our School Captains inside the building starting at 9:05am.
Reminders
Volunteers At School
It is great to have a few regular volunteers back in the classrooms and across the school now that Covid regulations are easing. Class teachers are looking for some parents who would like to help out with reading groups or maths groups during the week if you are interested. We would also love some help with Breakfast Club, library area, or even some regular garden maintenance if these are your areas of expertise.
Election Weekend
Thanks to everyone who was involved in helping out with the election weekend BBQ and Cake stall activities at school. A lot of work and organisation goes into something like this and we really appreciate the support of our parent community.
Grounds and Maintenance Upcoming works
In the next couple of weeks we will have some of the much loved elements of our playground area repaired or replaced. School Council was able to obtain some funds from Fosterville Gold Mine late last year which has allowed the school to do these repairs, as well as replace the shade sail over the playground. A new slide and flying fox will be part of what is done.
School Council are also in the process of looking into removing the bell tree to ensure the area is safe for our school community. The plan is to use the tree trunk somewhere in the school and reinstall the old bell in a prominent position where it can continue to be used.
The next meeting will be Friday 4th June
I'd say we may do a friday pub lunch for the next meeting if anyone is interested, let Kelly Nunns know, in person, via face book or e-mail.
If you have some input, or feedback please message me on face book or email knunnseps@outlook.com
