Term 4 SWPBS Focus - Kindness

Respect, Responsibility, Resilience.

School Vision:

Our school’s vision is to prepare young people to become active, engaged and responsible citizens of the local and global community.

  • We will provide a safe, calm and welcoming learning environment where every child is treated as an individual.
  • We will develop children who have a strong relationship to school and their community. The children will have a sense of self & understand how they learn.
  • We will build and support an open, healthy and welcoming community that is visible in its practical support for the learning and wellbeing of each child. Children will be encouraged to embrace and celebrate difference and they will experience positive interactions with adults.
  • We aim to foster a love of and for our natural environment and nurture a strong sense of stewardship within our students.  Eppalock PS prioritises environmental sustainability.

Welcome Back to Term 4.

Welcome back to Term 4 2022.  We hope everyone had a great break and was able to enjoy some time with family and friends in some form.  Hopefully we can have some warmer weather in Term 4 which will allow our oval area to dry off a bit and have the kids back on it each day.

Term 4 warmer weather also means hats back on.  Please check in with your child that they have an Eppalock PS broad brim hat.  Students who don’t have one will be asked to sit under the sheltered area.  Caps and other forms of hats are not part of our school uniform and students will be asked to take these off and put them away if they are worn at school.  Thanks for your support with this expectation.

A reminder also that medical plans, asthma puffers and any special dietary restrictions that students might have should be documented and communicated with school.

There will be lots going on in Term 4 so it is important to keep an eye on Ueducateus, newsletter and any individual class information platforms for updates.  Please contact the school if you are unsure of any events coming up.  Some of the things we have planned for the term include;

Grade 3-6 camp to Anglesea.  Grade P-2 stayback.  Combined athletics day with Axedale and Heathcote PS.

This week we have the voluntary grade 5/6 outdoor education camp, run by Latrobe University with the support of Mr McCartney.  This is a unique experience which we are very lucky to be able to provide for students at Eppalock PS.  Well done to Mr Mc for making this connection.  Mr Mc and Miss S will attend with the students, with Mr O and Lydia covering the students back at school for the 3 days.

Next Monday the 10th of October is also the start of our school review.  If you are available on Monday the 10th or Wednesday the 19th October to speak with our reviewers about the past 4 years please let us know at school.  It will only be a short discussion and it would be greatly appreciated if we could get a few families involved.

Reminders

  • Please ensure longer hair is tied back each day when coming to school.
  • There will be no pie warmer this term.
  • Any changes to regular pick up routines are best communicated via phone and speaking directly to a staff member so that it can be recorded in the after school pick up folder. We cannot always guarantee an email will be seen in time during the day.
  • Staff duty of care begins at 8:45am in the morning. Breakfast club will not be on this week, but will start next Tuesday the 11th October and run from 8:15am-8:45am.
  • Hats are required for term 4. Please ensure your child has the Eppalock PS broad brimmed hat ready to go.

School Items for removal

We still have a large worm farm which is available at school for anyone that would like to take it away.  Free of charge.

We also have some awnings at the back of the school which can be claimed at any stage.

Enrolments for 2023

A note will go home this week to enrolled Foundation students for 2023.  This will outline our Term 4 transition program.  If you know of any other families who are interested in enrolling in 2023 please get them to contact the school.
