Start of Term
We hope that all families had a wonderful break and shared some restful and relaxing time with one another. Already it has been to touch base with families and hear stories of the holidays, with many families getting away or going camping, it has sounded like a much-needed break.
What a wonderful start to Term Two. Although busy, the students have settled back into school well. Last week was very busy, with school photos happening on Thursday followed by Athletics day on Friday. Nonetheless, it has been great to see the student returning to school with smiles on their faces, keen to get back into school.
Cross Country with Axedale and Heathcote Primary Schools- April 28th
On Friday, we ventured off to Flora Hill for the Athletics Day carnival with Axedale and Heathcote Primary Schools. The weather was truly spectacular for the days events and the feedback from students, families and staff has been very positive. It was great to see all students showcasing our school value of ‘Resilience.’ The day was filled with laughter and smiles and we would like to recognise all the families that came out to support their children on the day. A big thanks to all the helpers and staff who coordinated the event!
Cross Country
On Wednesday, out grades three to six students are off to the Bendigo Racecourse. Just a reminder that student will need to be transported to and from the venue by parents but will be supervised at the venue by staff Mr. King, Lydia, Mr Tonzing, Chris and Nikki. Parents are welcome and encouraged to come along and cheer on the participants. All children should wear suitable running attire and should bring adequate warm clothing for when they have finished – shorts, polo and runners for the run and a tracksuit to put on before and afterwards. A shower-proof jacket is also recommended. Please ensure the children bring plenty of water to drink and enough food for the day so they are not hungry. It is a long day and children usually get very hungry. It is also recommended that students take a book to read.
Bendigo Writer’s Festival
On Thursday, grades two to six students are travelling into Bendigo for the Bendigo Writer’s Festival. Students will travel via a free bus, made possible through a successful grant application (thank you Lydia), and leave school at 10:30. No doubt the students will have a great day at the Writer’s Festival and we look forward to hearing about the day.
Welcome Back Kiara Cox
A big welcome to Kiara Cox who is returning to EPS to teach Music on Fridays after assembly. We are very excited to have Kiara back to teach the students about music and performing arts.
GRIP Leadership- School and House Captains
Next Wednesday, EPS School and House Captains are participating in a leadership development opportunity at Red Energy Stadium. This leadership conference will be an amazing opportunity for our young leaders to further develop their leadership skills while networking with other school leaders.
Pie Warmer Wednesday's
Pie warmer Wednesday's will begin again this term on Wednesday's each week. We will have our first one on Wednesday 17th May - this is still a couple of weeks away as we don't have our grades 6 students here on a Wednesday to help for the next 2 weeks. Please see the flyer in this weeks newsletter for instructions and information about Pie Warmer day.
