Week Two Reflection
What a start to this term. ANZAC Day, Athletics day, Cross Country and Scooter Day and on Thursday, the Writer’s Festival. It has been a whirlwind of a start to Term Two this year however it has provided a wide range of great experiences for all the EPS students. Of course, these could not have been possible without the support and efforts of both families and staff. I would like to thank staff and families for their ongoing efforts in this regard.
Prep Info Night
On Monday the 22nd, we will be hosting a Prep information night for all prospective 2024 Prep enrolments. The session will begin at 6PM in main building and run for about 30 mins. If you know of any families who are considering EPS as a school for their Prep child, please encourage them to come along.
Open Morning & Special Person
On Wednesday the 24th, we are having an Open Day as well as our ‘Special Person’ morning. We would love students to invite a special person in to show them our wonderful school as well as show some of the things they have been working on in class. This morning is also an Open Morning for 2024 Prep families as the Axe Creek Playgroup will be operating. If family members are able to pop in or help organise a ‘Special Person’ visit for the morning, that would be fantastic. On the day, we are asking for families who come along to bring a morning tea to share if possible. We are hoping to have a large morning tea together.
Working Bee
On Friday the 19th, from 2:15-6:00, we are having a working bee at school. We are aiming to have the school looking tip top for our Open Days and Prep Info Night. It will also be a great opportunity to come in and socialise as a community at the school. We understand that Friday night is very busy for families but if you can come along, even for an hour, that would be great. We have many odd jobs that need many hands and are asking families to arrive with any of the following:
We will finish the evening with a BBQ and relaxing around the fire before heading off. If family members can attend and help out, there is a permission form on uEducateUs. By giving your child permission it will help us determine food for catering purposes.
GRIP Leadership Conference
On Wednesday the 10th, the school captains are travelling to the Red Energy Stadium to take part in a Leadership development workshop. This is a great opportunity for our school leaders to further develop their leadership skills while networking with other primary school leaders.
Mother’s Day
With Mother’s Day happening next Sunday, the students are planning on bringing home some items to celebrate their mother’s. There is no stall however these handmade items look fantastic and certainly will spread love and appreciation to all the Mother’s.
AFL Clinics
This Thursday and next Thursday, all classes will be participating in an AFL clinic. We look forward to seeing the students out having a run around and kick of the footy in these sessions. Who knows, we may have the next Scott Pendlebury in making.
Solar Panel Update
It seems we have gone in a full circle however the school will be getting new solar panels installed on Wednesday the 17th. This means EPS will once again move towards being a more environmentally sustainable school.
