2024 Staffing- Update
Gina Sandwith has taken on another position and her final day at Eppalock Primary School will be on Friday, November 17th. We would like to thank and acknowledge the role the Gina has played in the Prep-Two classroom this year and congratulate her on taking on a new position for the Victorian Department of Transportation. In terms of the classroom teacher role, Lydia and Anne Hartney will step into the role of Prep-Two classroom teacher in a shared capacity for the final four and a half weeks. We are very excited that the classroom teacher role is being filled by two very experienced and known teachers here at EPS.
P/1/2 Stayback
On Monday October 30th, we will be having our P/1/2 Stay back evening. We are still working through the details of the night however wanted to announce that all Preps are encouraged to stay until dinner time, and we are inviting both the Grade One and Grade Two students for a sleep over on the night. Both Gina and Chris will be sleeping the night with the students. Once we meet again as a whole staff, more information will be provided.
After School Road Safety
At assembly on Friday, we spoke with the students about road safety. If your child is being picked up in the drive through area, they are required to wait for a staff member to leave the school grounds. They must only exit the gate once the car they are getting into is at the front of the line. Students are not allowed to jump the fence or run up the drive through zone.
When dropping off and picking students up from the other gates, students are not allowed to walk across the road without a family member. As this is not a supervised crossing, students must always cross with an adult. We thank families in advance for their support regarding this issue.
Referendum Sausage Sizzle and Cake Stall
Again, a big thanks to our wonderful parents, families and community members who were able to help out for the Referendum Voting day. Whether it was flipping the snags, working the cash register or cooking a slice or cake, these fundraising days play a gigantic role in our school’s ability to provide the resources and experiences for the students of EPS so a very big thank you.
Swimming at Gurri Wanyarra
From October 23rd to the 27th, we are travelling to Kangaroo Flat to participate in swimming lessons. In Term One, the cost of the program was subsidised through Department of Education funding however as we have used this funding, it will not be covered by the Department of Education. Rather, Eppalock Primary School will help subsidise the cost of the swimming program to keep the overall cost of the program as low as possible. Information regarding the program was sent out via uEducateUs last week. As per usual, all payments must be made through the My School Connect interface.
After School Care
Our new after school care providers, OSHC Adventures, have opened their doors for after school care. We encourage all families to enrol their children into the program as this process can take a bit of time. Enrolments can be completed online at:
