Term 4 Week 4 2023

FROM THE PRINCIPAL - Term 4, Week 4 2023

Swimming at Gurri Wanyarra

Although today was cancelled, we look forward to having our swimming program begin on Tuesday the 24th. In lieu of missing the first lesson, the school is in the process of organising a free, fun swimming day at the end of the school year. On Thursday the 26th, the swim staff have requested that students arrive with old clothes to swim in.

P/1/2 Stayback

On Monday October 30th, we will be having our P/1/2 Stay back evening. Gina and Chris will be sleeping over with the Grade One and Two students and Lydia and Andrew will be designing the after school and afternoon activities. The timetable for the event is as follows:

6.30pm- Fruit icy-poles for dessert

7.00pm- Prep and other children not staying the night to leave with parents.

7.30pm- Movie and sleep

Tuesday morning

Get ready for the day

7.30/7.45am Breakfast at school- prep students and any Grade 1/2 students who did not stay the night are welcome to come back for breakfast.

After School Road Safety

Thanks to everyone for ensuring that children cross the road safely or are picked up in a safe manner. If your child is being picked up in the drive through area, they are required to wait for a staff member to leave the school grounds. They must only exit the gate once the car they are getting into is at the front of the line. Students are not allowed to jump the fence or run up the drive through zone.

When dropping off and picking students up from the other gates, students are not allowed to walk across the road without a family member. As this is not a supervised crossing, students must always cross with an adult. We thank families in advance for their support regarding this issue.

After School Care

Our new after school care providers, OSHC Adventures, have opened their doors for after school care. We encourage all families to enrol their children into the program as this process can take a bit of time. Enrolments can be completed online at:

https://oshcadventures.com.au/

General Reminders

  • Please ensure longer hair is tied back each day when coming to school.
  • Please ensure that medical plans, asthma puffers and any special dietary restrictions that students might have should be documented and communicated with school.
  • There will be no pie warmer this term.
  • Any changes to regular pick up routines are best communicated via phone and speaking directly to a staff member so that it can be recorded in the after school pick up folder. We cannot always guarantee an email will be seen in time during the day.
  • Hats are required for Term 4. Please ensure your child has the Eppalock PS broad brimmed hat ready to go.
