Term 4 Week 6 2023

FROM THE PRINCIPAL TERM 4 WEEK 6

PA Cards

The new Positive Acknowledgment system for our Positive Behaviour System has hit the ground running. Last week, out house captains collated the information and staff recognised students’ positive behaviours choices 34 times, which is fantastic. We are very excited to see this trend continue and are looking forward to celebrating our students’ positive choices around the school more frequently.

Gymnastics

We were successful in receiving a Sporting Schools grant for this term and have booked in gymnastics at Palmer’s Gym in Bendigo. This will be taking place from Monday, December 4th to Thursday the 7th. There will be no cost to families for this event and permission notes can be found on uEducateUs from Tuesday the 7th of November.

Covid Update

We have had a few school members test positive to Covid recently. We would like to remind families to please keep children home if they are presenting with cold and flu-like symptoms. If students test positive, it is recommended that they stay home for 5 days.

P-2 Classroom

Gina Sandwith will have her final day at EPS on Friday the 17thof November. For the final 4 and ½ weeks, Lydia and Anne Hartney will be working in the classroom. Lydia will be the classroom teacher on Mondays and Tuesday, while Anne will be in from Wednesday to Friday.

2024 Parent Payment

Parent Payment information went home last Tuesday for next year. Our Parent Payment supports the school to provide our students with a wide range of educational opportunities and programs. Payment can be made through the Our School Connect platform from Tuesday, October 31st.

2024 Booklists

Booklists for next year went home last week in a paper format as well as a post in uEducateUs.

After School Care

Our new after school care providers, OSHC Adventures, have opened their doors for after school care. We encourage all families to enrol their children into the program as this process can take a bit of time. Enrolments can be completed online at:

https://oshcadventures.com.au/

General Reminders

Please ensure longer hair is tied back each day when coming to school.
Please ensure that medical plans, asthma puffers and any special dietary restrictions that students might have should be documented and communicated with school.
There will be no pie warmer this term.
Any changes to regular pick up routines are best communicated via phone and speaking directly to a staff member so that it can be recorded in the after school pick up folder. We cannot always guarantee an email will be seen in time during the day.

Photography fundraiser

Fundraiser Cancelled

It is with regret that I write to inform you that we have made the difficult decision to cancel our School Photo Fundraiser.

Eppalock Primary School will no longer be running the Chris Epworth Photography sessions 2023.

Unfortunately we just could not get enough bookings on either date proposed to make the event still viable.

We have spoken with Chris Epworth, the Photographer, and he will arrange for everyone to receive their paid booking fee refunded in full. This should occur over the coming couple of weeks.

I will make contact with everyone in about 3-weeks time to make sure that you have each received your full refund money. If you have any questions though in the meantime,  please don't hesitate to email or contact me on: 0418 390 824and I'll follow up.

On behalf of the School, I want to say a HUGE thank you for supporting this fundraiser. It has been a fantastic event in planning, that branched out well into our local community, so I'm disappointed that we were not able to bring it to fruition. Thank you.

We'll stay in touch though and bring you many more wonderful Eppalock PS fundraising opportunities.
