Sports Reflection
What a busy week last week was! GRIP Leadership, Cross Country and finally on Friday, our Athletics Day! Thank you to our wonderful community who have helped to support these events. Thanks to the parent helpers who made Friday a success, we could not have done it without your support. Thanks for offering your time and energy to help ensure that the day was a success.
Working Bee- Friday 10th May- 2:15PM onwards
It is that time of year again where we are asking for our wonderful community to come along to school and give us a hand to tidy up the grounds. On Friday, May 10th from 2:15, we are working around the school to get it ready for our Prep Information Week. Last year we had a great turnout, and we are hoping that we can do the same this year. So, if you can spare an hour or a few, it would be appreciated. Please bring along any gardening equipment on the night. We will light the fire and enjoy each other’s company after the working bee. Parents Club will be cooking some hotdogs on the night so could please indicate how many from your family will be attending via the Working Bee invite on the Parents facebook group for catering purposes or contact Alicia or Jen to let them know.
Friday- Bunnings and Mother’s Day Brekkie
This Friday the Parents Club are running the Mother’s Day brekkie at school. This will be cooked by the dads of EPS from 8:15-9:00. At 9:30, the Prep-2s will be completing an art painting activity with support from Bunnings.
EppaLock It In
Are you a trivia nut? Do you have great general knowledge? Or do you fancy a catch up on the oval while having a bit of a laugh? On Saturday the 25th, we are having a bit of a community day here at school. We are going to be running a trivia afternoon. There are no prizes or anything, just an opportunity to get the community together. It is running from 2-5 so if you are interested in coming along, that would be great. Please bring your own food, drinks, chairs or a rug and get ready for a fun afternoon. Please RSVP via the Facebook invitation from Parents Club or let Alicia or Jen know.
Friday the 17th of May- Pupil Free
We are having a pupil free day on Friday the 17th of May. All staff will be onsite completing first aid, CPR and anaphylaxis requirements.
3-6 Urban Camp
The cost of the camp is being subsidised by the school to keep overall costs down and the cost per student is $250. We are requesting that the final payment of $50 be made by May 17th, by mySchoolConnect.
Hey families,
I am sure you know how important The Base is for our children at EPS and recognise how lucky we are to have this space at school. It is a really important space for our students and provides so much great learning. Types of learning include:
Cognitive: problem solving, imagination & creativity.
Social & emotional: independence, communication, self-expression, negotiation, conflict resolution & the development of resilience in a safe and supported way.
Physical: balance, coordination, flexibility, accuracy & calculating risk.
Now that summer is over and the threat of snakes has reduced with the cooler weather, we want to give the base a new look and inspire new play ideas through re-invigorating the area with some loose parts play options. We are looking for donations of things that you might have lying around home or are able to acquire. There is a list below – but it is not exhaustive – of things we are looking for. We are also trying to source another large tree log for the space from a development area (but if anyone is able to also supply this, we would love that too!).
I have included some pictures for inspiration – so feel free to get creative with your collection of bits.
Thanks so much for your support with this
Lydia
