Term 2 Week 10 2024

FROM THE PRINCIPAL - TERM 2, WEEK 10, 2024

Parent Teacher Interviews for Reports

This term we are having parent teacher interviews on the 19th of June in order to allow parents time to meet with classroom teachers to discuss their child’s academic progress. We would like to invite all families in to meet with classroom teachers to discuss their child’s learning and engagement with school across the first semester. Please ensure that you have made a time to meet with your child’s teacher as soon as possible.

Integrated Expo- Tuesday 3-3:30

This Tuesday, the teachers are opening up classrooms to showcase students work from their integrated studies unit this term. It will be a great opportunity for families to pop in to see what has been happening in the classrooms during integrated studies time. We look forward to seeing families on Tuesday.  If your child is normally a bus traveller please let us know if you will be attending so we can make sure we don't put them on the bus home that night.

Music/Performing Arts teacher

We are very excited to welcome aboard Tan Rusbridge who will be our Music and Performing Arts teacher for Term Two. For those who have come along to our ‘Music on the Deck’ performance and saw the magic that Tan was able to make happen over two one-hour sessions, it showcased how fortunate we are to be able to bring Tan onboard as a staff member. Congratulations Tan and welcome!

2025 Prep Enrolments

We are seeking any enrolment information from families who are intending on enrolling their child in Prep for 2025. This information is due in by July 26th, if you require a Prep enrolment packet, please contact the office.

Final Week- Andrew on Long Service

Next week, I am taking some long service and Lydia and Nina will co-share Principal duties. If there are any major concerns or issues regarding next week, please contact the school and you will be directed to either Nina or Lydia.

Walk to School Day

Thanks to Lydia and all the family volunteers that made Walk to School Day possible last week. The pictures (and drone footage-thanks Chris) were great. And we’d like to recognise that is through our wonderful community volunteers that these days are possible, so thank you very much.

3-6 Soccer

A big thank you to Chris McDermott who jumped in to take our students out to Epsom on Wednesday for the Sandhurst soccer tournament. It sounds like it was a great day and the students had a great time.

Covid, Colds and Flu

We are well and truly into that time of year when people are getting sick. We are experiencing an increase in reported Covid-19 cases throughout Victoria and our school community. Please keep your child home if they have any cold and flu like symptoms, even if your child is testing negative, they are required to stay at home until symptom free. If your child tests positive, please ensure they stay home for at least 5 days and they are no longer symptomatic. We appreciate your support as these steps will help us all stay well.
