FROM THE PRINCIPAL - TERM 3, WEEK 3, 2024

Potato Olympics

Just a reminder that today is the opening ceremony for the ‘Potato Olympics’, it will be from 2:45PM.

100 Days of School

What a fantastic, fun-filled day Friday was. The students participated in a variety of fun tasks and enjoyed each other’s company while celebrating 100 days at school. A special thank you to Shaylee and the efforts she went to, ensuring that students had a wonderful day!

Tree Planting Day- Friday 9th

Students will be leaving school at 9.30 and returning at approximately 2PM for out Tree Planting Day. We have booked a bus for the day and look forward to having our wider community come along for what will always a great day. There is a BBQ on the day as well and hopefully, if all goes well, a fire as well. On the day, if students could please wear appropriate shoes/boots, that would be great. If you would like to take your child home straight form the event, that is fine however please make sure you contact your child’s classroom teacher on the day.

5/6 Football

On Tuesday the 30th, our 5/6s are playing football at Kennington Primary School. We are teaming up with Axedale PS to create both a boys’ and girls’ team. Jersey will be provided however student require their own footy boots, socks, shorts and mouthguards on the day.

Strathfieldsaye Tennis Courts

Strathfieldsaye Tennis Courts Redevelopment will commence on Monday, July 29th. The six current tennis courts will be demolished, and five new courts will be built along with two netball courts.

We look forward to this new multipurpose facility in the new year and anticipate it will serve the community well into the future.

Members of STC and non-members can continue to book online by going to our website using the Club Spark booking system. For the next few months we have access to four back courts at the Bendigo Regional Tennis Centre. (Enter on McCrae Street.)

Parent Opinion Survey

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents/caregivers/guardians think of our school. The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional but we encourage all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

All families are invited to participate in the survey. The survey will be open from July 26th to August 30th. The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. Please contact the office if you would like more information.
