FROM THE PRINCIPAL - TERM 1, WEEK 9, 2025

Junior School Council (JSC)

Last Friday all classes were involved in voting for Junior School Council. It was wonderful to hear from students who were interested in taking part of the JSC for 2025. Many students delivered amazing speeches and represented their classes, showcasing all students' eagerness to contribute to EPS on a broader level. On behalf of all the teachers, we would like to announce and celebrate the following students as the JSC for 2025

Room A: Sarah and Huddy

Room B: Jameson (JJ) and Ethan

Room C: Maddie and Rhys

On Friday’s assembly, there will be a badge presentation for these students.

Individual Education Plans

Classroom teachers will be sending home Individual Education Plans on Tuesday this week. For students requiring a meeting to discuss Individual Education Plans, our Student Support Group meeting went home last week and the meetings will be happening throughout Tuesday. • donate more per sales dollar to local nonprofits, events, and teams

If you would like to have your business displayed here or would like to update your business details, please call or email the school

Working With Children Check

The Working with Children Check is a screening process for assessing or re-assessing people who work with or care for children in Victoria.

At Eppalock PS we require any volunteers to have a current WWCC.

These checks are free for Volunteers.  PLEASE CHECK TO SEE IF YOUR WWCC IS CURRENT AND THAT WE HAVE A COPY OF IT HERE AT THE SCHOOL.  I HAVE JUST UPDATED OUR FILES AND WE HAVE A LOT THAT ARE NO LONGER CURRENT GOING BY OUR RECORDS.

Please remember that you cannot help out with any school activities unless you have a current WWCC

Please follow this link to apply for a WWCC

Wellbeing

Hi All,

The kids are well and truly settled in and ready for an exciting final term for 2025!

In wellbeing, the classrooms are diving back into Respectful Relationships, and are focusing on Positive Coping, where students develop language around coping, critically reflect on their coping and strategies and extend their repertoire of positive coping strategies.

While we have moved on from Friendology this term, we will revisit some components throughout the term, and when the need arises. We encourage families to do the same! A great one to know and to talk about is Friendship Fires: those little disagreements that can be normal in a healthy friendship (even as adults!). Grades 2-6 have explored this, and use this language often to talk about conflicts that happen in the yard.

You can read a great blog post about it here:

https://urstrong.com/resource/friendship-fire-or-mean-on-purpose/

There is also a fantastic visual that explains some strategies for Friendship Fires and Mean on Purpose:

Until next time!
