Start of Term
Welcome back to Term Two at EPS. We hope all families had a wonderful break and enjoyed the Easter holidays. It has been great to hear of family getaways, camping and other memory-making adventures.
Thank You EPS Parents Club
What a huge couple of weeks for our amazing Parents Club. A special shout out to the Parkers for laying the grip strips down on the ramp and Jen for the internal paint and tidy up. From organising our Hot Cross Bun fundraiser, to the Easter BBQ and repainting some internal walls of the school, we thank you so much for your efforts in supporting our school. We are extremely fortunate to have such an active and involved parent community, so thank you very much!
On The Deck Reflection
An amazing last Friday of Term One saw many talents of EPS display their skills in another epic On The Deck performance. Thanks to Tan for all your hard work in this space and well done to all those who performed!
ANZAC Day Ceremony at EPS
This Thursday afternoon at 2:45, our student leaders are leading an ANZAC Day ceremony here in the Serenity Garden. This is a community event, so if you are free and would like to pop in, please feel free.
Hats
Hats are still required until the 1st of May, in Week Two.
ANZAC Day Ceremony at Shrine of Remembrance
This Monday, our school captains and Mr King are headed to Melbourne for the ANZAC Day Ceremony. We look forward to hearing from the school captains about this wonderful experience next week.
ANZAC Day, Friday April 25th
Friday the 25th is ANZAC Day, so there is no school on that day.
GRIP Leadership Conference- Thursday, May 1st
On Thursday, May 1st, our student leadership team is off to the GRIP Leadership Conference at Red Energy Centre. Our school and house captains will participate in a variety of leadership activities alongside other school leaders.
Friday May 2nd- Mother’s Day Brekkie and Eppalock It In
Our annual Mother’s Day Brekkie will take place here at school in the old school building. Please see the Parent Club report for more information. We are also running Eppalock It In Trivia night on Friday night at 6:30 PM. To book a spot, please jump onto: https://myschoolevent.com.au/event/eppalock-primary-school-eppa-lock-it-in-2025/
Athletics with Axedale Primary School- Parent Volunteers Needed
On Friday the 9th, we are headed to the Flora Hill Athletics track for our annual Athletics day. On the day, students will travel to the event via a bus (departing from EPS at 9AM) however we ask that families arrange for their child to be picked up from Flora Hill on the day. The day should finish around 2:15PM.
If families can volunteer to take a group for the whole day, please contact Andrew King on 5439 6366. We need families to volunteer to help manage an event alongside an EPS teacher.
Pie Warmer Wednesdays
Our pie warmer returns next week. On Wednesdays, students can bring along a lunch that can be heated in our pie warmer. Please ensure that the food is wrapped in aluminium foil and clearly named.
Election Day Cake Stall
For the election weekend, we are hosting a cake stall here at school. We do not need parent volunteers for the stall; however, we would love for families to bake a slice, cake, or something sweet for the day. Paper plates and plastic bags will be sent home closer to the election.
BSE Transition Information
Please see below for information regarding Year 6 Transitions to BSE.

P/1/ - Arlo.J - Jacob has been doing some amazing work and trying very hard while practicing his handwriting.
2/3/4- Ethan.N Ethan has been reading at home consistently all term and is rightly very proud of his efforts this Term in general.

Hi All,
The kids are well and truly settled in and ready for an exciting final term for 2025!
In wellbeing, the classrooms are diving back into Respectful Relationships, and are focusing on Positive Coping, where students develop language around coping, critically reflect on their coping and strategies and extend their repertoire of positive coping strategies.
While we have moved on from Friendology this term, we will revisit some components throughout the term, and when the need arises. We encourage families to do the same! A great one to know and to talk about is Friendship Fires: those little disagreements that can be normal in a healthy friendship (even as adults!). Grades 2-6 have explored this, and use this language often to talk about conflicts that happen in the yard.
You can read a great blog post about it here:

There is also a fantastic visual that explains some strategies for Friendship Fires and Mean on Purpose:

Until next time!
