Term 2 Week 11 2025

FROM THE PRINCIPAL - TERM 2, WEEK 11, 2025

Rocking on The Hill- Reflection by Charlie M

The band rocked up around 10:45AM. We listened to all the solos, including Eadie. Eadie did an amazing job playing the drums. The entire band then jumped up on the stage. We played five songs, they were:

  • Lonely Boy
  • Don’t Worry, Be Happy
  • TNT
  • True Colours
  • Counting Stars

Many of the band members stayed on after we finished to watch the other bands perform.

After speaking with Tan and a number of students who performed, it sounds like the Possum Tragics did a marvellous job performing. It was a great way to boost confidence and showcase the talents within our school. Well done to the Possum Tragics and their teacher, Tan!

On The Deck- last Friday of the Term

Just a reminder that we finish at 1:30 on the last of the term, wrapping up another great term with an On the Deck

Thursday the 3rd of July

Thanks to all the families who have booked interviews, the spots are filling up quickly.

The change in formate means your child only attends school for the duration of the parent-teacher interview and goes home with you after the interview. In terms of interview times, the booking times will be from 9AM-4:30PM.

Acting Principal On Site

Rhys Barri will be on site on Friday, July 4th (the last Friday of term), for our assembly and a meet-and-greet session. If you can come to our last assembly of the term, he is sticking around for the day to meet all the students, staff and families.

Long Service Leave

I would like to extend a big thanks to all the families and students who have wished me all the best for my long service leave. It is great to work in such a wonderful community like EPS. Rhys will do a spectacular job in the Acting Principal role and I do not doubt that the community will support him immensely as he transitions into the role.

TERM 2, WEEK 11, 2025 Parent Community News

Wellbeing

Hi All,

The kids are well and truly settled in and ready for an exciting final term for 2025!

In wellbeing, the classrooms are diving back into Respectful Relationships, and are focusing on Positive Coping, where students develop language around coping, critically reflect on their coping and strategies and extend their repertoire of positive coping strategies.

While we have moved on from Friendology this term, we will revisit some components throughout the term, and when the need arises. We encourage families to do the same! A great one to know and to talk about is Friendship Fires: those little disagreements that can be normal in a healthy friendship (even as adults!). Grades 2-6 have explored this, and use this language often to talk about conflicts that happen in the yard.

You can read a great blog post about it here:

https://urstrong.com/resource/friendship-fire-or-mean-on-purpose/

There is also a fantastic visual that explains some strategies for Friendship Fires and Mean on Purpose:

Until next time!
