Week 3
Welcome to Week 3! It’s been fantastic to see such a positive start to the term, with students diving into their learning and enjoying the many fun opportunities on offer.
NAPLAN
Naplan results have been sent home today to our Grade 3 and 5 students who participated in this year’s assessment. Our results have been very pleasing in many areas. Both staff and School Council will examine this data closely in coming weeks and see what more can be done to be the best school we can be for our students. Also a friendly reminder that while NAPLAN provides a useful snapshot of student learning, it’s just one small piece of the puzzle. It doesn’t capture all the wonderful qualities, talents, and growth that make up each and every child at Eppalock PS.
Permission notes
Reminder to please keep an eye out for permission notes on uEducateUs. As mentioned previously there are lots of exciting activities this term that require permission notes to be completed. These included:

Hi All,
The kids are well and truly settled in and ready for an exciting final term for 2025!
In wellbeing, the classrooms are diving back into Respectful Relationships, and are focusing on Positive Coping, where students develop language around coping, critically reflect on their coping and strategies and extend their repertoire of positive coping strategies.
While we have moved on from Friendology this term, we will revisit some components throughout the term, and when the need arises. We encourage families to do the same! A great one to know and to talk about is Friendship Fires: those little disagreements that can be normal in a healthy friendship (even as adults!). Grades 2-6 have explored this, and use this language often to talk about conflicts that happen in the yard.
You can read a great blog post about it here:
https://urstrong.com/resource/friendship-fire-or-mean-on-purpose/
There is also a fantastic visual that explains some strategies for Friendship Fires and Mean on Purpose:

Until next time!
