Week 7
Week 7 is here! Hopefully the new week brings some warmer weather and some sunshine.
Bike Hike and Wheely fun day
Due to the cold, wet and windy weather on Friday, bike hike was postponed to Friday the 10th of October (week 1 of term 4).
Basketball
This Friday, Mr Barri will be taking a team of our Grade 5/6 students to compete in the Bendigo Schools Basketball Tournament. We wish our team the very best of luck as they hit the court and show off their skills!
There’s even been some chatter that this line-up could rival the legendary 1991 USA “Dream Team” so watch out, Bendigo schools!
Parent opinion survey
WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CAREGIVERS / GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!
Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.
The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open until Friday 19 September 2025.
All families are invited to participate in the survey. The survey will be conducted online, only takes 15-20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
You will receive an UeducateUs message with the school link and PIN this week
Education Support Staff week
This week we celebrate the amazing Education Support Staff at Eppalock Primary School!
Kristy, Megan, Jonty, Darcy and Nikki go above and beyond every day to support our students, staff and school community in countless ways. From learning support in the classroom, running the office, to lending a helping hand wherever it’s needed, their care and commitment make a huge difference in the lives of our students and staff.
We feel so fortunate to have such a dedicated team at Eppalock. If you see them around this week, please join us in showing your appreciation with a big smile, a wave or a big thank you!
Have Your Say – Languages in 2026
As we begin planning for 2026, we’d love to hear your thoughts on our school’s Language Program. Your feedback will help us shape a program that best supports our students.
You can share your ideas by scanning the QR code below. Staff and students will also be completing a similar survey, so we can gather a wide range of perspectives.
All feedback is warmly welcomed, thank you for helping us plan ahead!
Hats
As of today students will need to start wearing hats at school. Week 7 will be transitioning week for this. Can parents please make sure student’s hats are clearly labelled with students’ name. They do seem to go walk abouts. Thank you
Mr Barri’s Joke of the Week – Week 7
Why can’t you trust stairs?
Because they’re always up to something

P/1- Jacob.M - Jacob has been working really hard to correctly form his letters, particularly when writing his name. Jacob is always a kind member of our classroom and tries his best.
2/3/4- Jett.A - Jett had an awesome camp and has also shown such great enthusiasm researching animals and designing habitats in writing and integrated studies.
Jayden.B - For his bravery and resilience at camp.
4/5/6- Ben.T - Ben continues to consistently demonstrate our school value of respect during learning time and has been working hard to use his prior knowledge to solve challenging open ended tasks in maths.
Rhys.B - During camp Rhys was extremely supportive of his peers, encouraging them to give challenging activities a go and congratulating them when they were done.

Eppalock Primary School will be celebrating its 150 year anniversary in 2026! The date has been set… Sunday 18th October 2026!! Put it in your diaries and spread the word!
We have formed a committee to plan a celebration. Please let us know if you would like to help!
To register your interest in joining the organising committee please email 150yearsEPS@gmail.com. We are seeking both current and former EPS community members for the committee.
If you have any great photos, stories, or memorabilia from Eppalock Primary School over the last 150 years we would love to hear from you. Please email them through to 150yearsEPS@gmail.com.
We look forward to celebrating this significant milestone in 2026.
I hope you all had a fabulous holiday and are excited to be back at school. 2026 is a year of change for me as I go part time, sharing the role with Karen Rees. We have lots of new books for the van and are looking forward to getting back to our wonderful schools.
On my off days I’m going to be spending lots of time with my granddaughter Nora. This is a photo of my first day off for 2026… can you see where we went? After many years away I’ll be back at Toddler Reading Time each week at the library and I can’t wait!
Happy Reading, Mrs G ?
