Athletics with Axedale- Friday May 8th
We only have one volunteer and desperately need more! On the day, we are asking for families to help and walk around with a group of students or help support an event on the day. If you can come and volunteer for the day, please contact Andrew as soon as possible as we need volunteers to ensure the events success.
Well Done Grades Three and Five
Well done to all students who undertook NAPLAN last week, all students put in their best efforts and tried hard across the week.
No School- Good Friday- April 3rd and ‘On the Deck!’
This term finishes on Thursday, the 2nd at 1:30PM. On the Deck will be happening as the usual way to finish up the first term of school, we look forward to inviting the community into school for this lovely way to end the term.
For those new to our school, On The Deck is an end of term performance that Tan and students do each term. Students get a chance to showcase skills learnt across the term and a chance to shine on the stage. It takes place from 12:30-1:30.
Changes in Student Pick Up After School
If there is a late change to how your child is to be collected, please call the school to ensure that this communication is received. This will ensure that we have received the message. The phone line does get busy in the afternoon so please call the school with any changes as early as possible.
OSHC Adventures
All families should enrol your child into OSHC Adventures as a precautionary measure in case of emergency as staff duty of care finishes at 3:45PM. Students are not able to be accepted into the OSHC Adventures program without relevant paperwork being completed prior to a child attending. OSHC Adventures operates 5 days a week from 3:15 to 6PM. If families are unable to collect children by 3:30, students will be sent to the OHSC program. More information can be found on their website:

P/1- Cooper.J - Cooper has been trying his best during reading this week. He has been actively joining in and having a go at independently reading and writing words using the sounds we have been learning.
2/3/4- Ellie.E - Ellie has shown great resilience in the playground and during learning tasks. She approaches challenges with determination, listens carefully to advice, and is willing to have another go.
4/5/6- Charlie.B - Charlie has been working really hard during persuasive writing over the last couple of weeks, using strong persuasive devices and statistics to support his arguments

Hi All,
The kids are well and truly settled in and ready for an exciting final term for 2025!
In wellbeing, the classrooms are diving back into Respectful Relationships, and are focusing on Positive Coping, where students develop language around coping, critically reflect on their coping and strategies and extend their repertoire of positive coping strategies.
While we have moved on from Friendology this term, we will revisit some components throughout the term, and when the need arises. We encourage families to do the same! A great one to know and to talk about is Friendship Fires: those little disagreements that can be normal in a healthy friendship (even as adults!). Grades 2-6 have explored this, and use this language often to talk about conflicts that happen in the yard.
You can read a great blog post about it here:

There is also a fantastic visual that explains some strategies for Friendship Fires and Mean on Purpose:

Until next time!
