FROM THE PRINCIPAL - TERM 1, WEEK 9, 2026

Junior School Council 2026

At Friday’s assembly, we announced our Junior School Councillors for 2026. Chris McDermott will again be leading this enthusiastic group of students for 2026. We are pleased to celebrate and recognise the following students:

Room C: Brax and Lachlan

Room B: Ruby and Pearl

Room A: Zave and Cloe

We look forward to seeing this team in action this year and their ideas! Well done to all students!

Baby News for Mrs Shelton

Amy Shelton is very excited to announce that she is expecting her first baby in towards the end of Term Three! This is a very special time, and we know you will join us in congratulating her on this exciting milestone.

Amy will continue in her role for most of the year, and we will keep you informed of any arrangements regarding her leave and staffing closer to the time to ensure a smooth transition for students.

We are thrilled for Amy and Kane and wish her and her growing family all the very best as they prepare for this new chapter.

Thank You Campbell Parker

Thank you to Campbell Parker who came in last weekend and constructed some cabinetry in the classrooms, we are very grateful for your help!

Art Shed Move Out

Over the holidays, the Art and Music Shed is getting an overhaul. This requires everything to be out of it so works can take place. On Wednesday the 1st of April, we need as many helpers as possible to help us move everything out of the Art Shed and into the shipping container. If you are free, we need as much muscle to help get everything out of the shed. If you can help for an hour or for the day, please contact the school to let us know, we really appreciate the support!

Athletics with Axedale- Friday May 8th

We are still after more volunteers to walk with students for our Aths Day next term. On the day, we are asking for families to help and walk around with a group of students or help support an event on the day. If you can come and volunteer for the day, please contact Andrew as soon as possible as we need volunteers to ensure the event's success.

No School- Good Friday- April 3rd and ‘On the Deck!’

Our final assembly for this term will be on Thursday the 2nd at 12:00PM in the shared learning space. There will be a very exciting announcement made at this assembly and we look forward to having our many of our parents in attendance for this assembly before ‘On The Deck!’

This term finishes on Thursday, the 2nd at 1:30PM. On the Deck will be happening as the usual way to finish up the first term of school, we look forward to inviting the community into school for this lovely way to end the term.

For those new to our school, On The Deck is an end of term performance that Tan and students do each term. Students get a chance to showcase skills learnt across the term and a chance to shine on the stage. It takes place from 12:30-1:30.

AWARDS - TERM 1, WEEK 9, 2026

P/1- Arliah.C -  For using her voice in a tricky situation.

2/3/4- Savvy.W -  Savvy has had a fantastic start to the year and has continued to work hard in all areas. She has particularly impressed me this last week with the neatness of her writing and how she takes time to think deeply before answering questions.

4/5/6- Kate.M - Kate has worked really hard over the last week to create strong, convincing arguments in her persuasive writing piece through the use of rhetorical questions and emotive language.

She has also shown growth with her handwriting and should be very proud of herself!

CEPA Farm Supplies Rewards Program 2026

Join the CEPA Community Rewards Program

EPS is excited to be part of the CEPA Community Rewards Program, a simple way for families to support our school while they shop.

CEPA Farm Supplies is a local Bendigo cooperative that supports community organisations like ours.

How It Works

  1. Register for the CEPA Community Rewards Program
  2. Nominate Eppalock Primary School as the organisation you support
  3. Shop at CEPA Farm Supplies
  4. CEPA donates a percentage of your purchases back to our school

It’s an easy way to help raise funds for our school at no extra cost to families.

Funds Raised Help Support

  • Student learning resources
    • School programs and activities
    • Improvements to school facilities
    • Community events

Why It Matters

The more families that participate, the more funds our school receives. By supporting a local business, you are also helping strengthen our local community.

Support our local businesses

Locally owned businesses are owned by your friends and neighbours who live in this community. Local businesses generally
  • make more local purchases
  • are more invested in our community’s future
  • create jobs in your town
  • donate more per sales dollar to local nonprofits, events, and teams

If you would like to have your business displayed here or would like to update your business details, please call or email the school

Wellbeing

Hi All,

The kids are well and truly settled in and ready for an exciting final term for 2025!

In wellbeing, the classrooms are diving back into Respectful Relationships, and are focusing on Positive Coping, where students develop language around coping, critically reflect on their coping and strategies and extend their repertoire of positive coping strategies.

While we have moved on from Friendology this term, we will revisit some components throughout the term, and when the need arises. We encourage families to do the same! A great one to know and to talk about is Friendship Fires: those little disagreements that can be normal in a healthy friendship (even as adults!). Grades 2-6 have explored this, and use this language often to talk about conflicts that happen in the yard.

You can read a great blog post about it here:

https://urstrong.com/resource/friendship-fire-or-mean-on-purpose/

There is also a fantastic visual that explains some strategies for Friendship Fires and Mean on Purpose:

Until next time!
