Term 3 SWPBS Focus - Resilience
Kindness, Responsibility, Resilience.
School Vision:
Our school’s vision is to prepare young people to become active, engaged and responsible citizens of the local and global community.
Week 9 Term 3 2022
Another week, another camp completed here at Eppalock Primary School. From all reports and the smiles on student faces, they had a great time on camp. The weather was not the best, but that didn’t stop the group from having fun and giving everything a go. There are some amazing photos of the group on their walk to the Venus Baths. This is something that I would certainly be looking into with my own family and a trip I would like to do in the near future. A huge thanks to everyone involved in the camp. Mr Mc, Chris, Lydia as staff who attended, Brooke and Daryl who attended as parents to support the group and to our 5/6 students who supported and encouraged each other while away. This camp was another of the Positive Start program camp opportunities provided for no cost to families or the school. Great to see the ‘Are you ready?’ call being made on the 5/6 camp as well.
We return to a more normal week this week with no camps. There is a Bookweek dress up day on Wednesday. Please don’t feel any pressure to go over the top with dress ups, participate at your level of comfort. Some families enjoy the dress ups, some don’t. Sue will be here for MARC van on that day and to run some Bookweek activities with the students.
Thanks to those families who came to the Tree Planting day on Friday, it was great to have so many adults and other family members help out. We were able to plant around 300 plants/trees in a very quick time. Adrian was very impressed with how quickly our group was able to complete what was needed to be done. Huge thanks to Adrian for his organisation and preparation before the event. It was great to have Adrian there to guide us with what to do and why it was being done. Thanks also to Lydia for her continued work in this area, it is Lydia’s favourite day of the year. This one has been two years in the making. Thanks also to Gabe from Bendigo Toyota for her work on the BBQ and providing some lunch.
Don’t forget;
Reminders
School Review Term 4 and parent surveys
Last call for any family feedback for our school review. The review is now a two day review based on the positive school data from the past few years. The two days are now scheduled for October 10th and 19th. If you have time to provide some feedback around the questions below that would be appreciated.
What are the highlights from the last 4 years (2018-2022)? What have been the barriers from the last 4 years (2018-2022?)
What should the school keep doing? What should the school stop doing? What should the school start doing?
There will be an opportunity for families to speak with the panel of reviewers. If you would like to be involved please let us know.
Bus System
For our bus travellers, please keep an eye out for an email in regards to Bus Travel which will be sent by DET. Please let us know at school if you have not received an email explaining the new bus system by Tuesday of this week.
School Items for removal
We still have a large worm farm which is available at school for anyone that would like to take it away.
We also have some awnings at the back of the school which can be claimed at any stage.
2022 Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey
We are almost half way there for our parent survey. Aiming for 30 responses. This is different to the school review feedback. We can do it. The link can be find on educateus. I am told you can complete the survey in less than 10 minutes.
The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 15th August to Friday 16th September.
