Term 4 Week 5 2023

FROM THE PRINCIPAL - TERM 4 WEEK 5

P/1/2 Stayback

Tonight is the Prep/1/2 Stayback. We are very excited to invite our P-2 students to stick around tonight for a fun-filled afternoon of games, activities, a movie and some pizza. Andrew and Lydia will be here for the after-school activities while Gina and Ben will be sleeping over for the night with the students. This is a great opportunity for our younger students to enjoy and develop their confidence while in a very comfortable and familiar setting. We hope all the students have a wonderful night here at EPS.

2024 Parent Payment

Our 2024 Parent Payments and Booklists are organised and ready to go for next year. Our Parent Payment supports the school to provide our students with a wide range of educational opportunities and programs. More information will be sent home tomorrow via a hard copy and if there are any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school. Payment can be made through the Our School Connect platform from Tuesday, October 31st.

2024 Booklists

Booklists for next year are also set up and ready to be purchased. As with previous years, this is done directly through EdPlus. Again, this information will be sent home via hard copy tomorrow, Tuesday the 31st. There will also be a post in uEducateUs with the links.

Communication

We recognise that there have been a few issues regarding our communication with families recently, especially regarding the uEducateUs application and the secondary reminders that are occurring. We are currently investigating this with the support of uEducateUs. However, just a gentle reminder to please use appropriate communication channels through uEducateUs and email when queries arise regarding school events.

Bendigo Cup

Just a reminder that there is no school this Wednesday due to the Bendigo Cup.

Friday Assembly cancelled

Both Lydia and Andrew are away this Friday and there will not be an assembly.

After School Road Safety

Thanks to everyone for ensuring that children cross the road safely or are picked up in a safe manner. If your child is being picked up in the drive through area, they are required to wait for a staff member to leave the school grounds. They must only exit the gate once the car they are getting into is at the front of the line. Students are not allowed to jump the fence or run up the drive through zone.

When dropping off and picking students up from the other gates, students are not allowed to walk across the road without a family member. As this is not a supervised crossing, students must always cross with an adult. We thank families in advance for their support regarding this issue.

After School Care

Our new after school care providers, OSHC Adventures, have opened their doors for after school care. We encourage all families to enrol their children into the program as this process can take a bit of time. Enrolments can be completed online at:

https://oshcadventures.com.au/

General Reminders

  • Please ensure longer hair is tied back each day when coming to school.
  • Please ensure that medical plans, asthma puffers and any special dietary restrictions that students might have should be documented and communicated with school.
  • There will be no pie warmer this term.
  • Any changes to regular pick up routines are best communicated via phone and speaking directly to a staff member so that it can be recorded in the after school pick up folder. We cannot always guarantee an email will be seen in time during the day.
  • Hats are required for Term 4. Please ensure your child has the Eppalock PS broad brimmed hat ready to go.
